This wonderful little black kitty came to us with Bella Brown Cat. Friends of ours could not care for these two cats and other
cats that they had. One of their kitties was returned to the humane society because our friends thought that he had been
having accidents around the house (really it had been Bella). While it broke our heart that we did not also get to adopt him,
Ray checked and someone had already adopted that handsome orange kitty.
Lucy had been a bit of a trouble maker as a tiny kitten. Unfortunately for her, her biggest trouble was in that she had eaten
a sewing needle!
An emergency surgery saved this kitten's life. When Ray's wife first saw Lucy, (while Ray was updating a door lock on that
house), she knew that she wanted that little black kitten. The funny thing is that when Ray first saw Bella, he too, had fallen
in love with one of our friends' cats; so much so that he told them that if they ever thought that they needed to get rid of
any of their cats, that Ray wanted them!
A few months later, and fate brought us Bella and Lucy. Our friends are on the young side, and it is not so easy to have multiple
pets and be working to establish yourself in the world. We find that pet owners tend to feel guilty that they cannot spend as
much time with their pet as they would like. This very situation is what resulted in Bella and Lucy coming into our home.
We love and care for all of our kitties, but Lucy, because of her ordeal at such a young age, is very timid. Recently, she has been
playing around with many of our kittens and is coming out from hiding more and more. She actually sleeps on the bed with us at
times and allows Ray's wife to pet her more and more. Ray has been able to hold her and hug her from time to time as well. She is
very soft and just a precious little angel.
We are very happy that she has healed up from her sewing needle ordeal, and we keep a very close eye on her every chance we
get.
