Bella is a "retread", a cat that has been adopted more than once. The good news for Bella is that she is extremely beautiful,
the bad news about Bella is that she has very poor litter box skills.
After we had adopted Bella, she developed a urinary tract blockage. X-Ray's showed that she had a light blockage in her
bladder (typically from food), and an operation cleaned her all up. She had to be shaved for the operation, and the shaving
revealed her tattoo from the humane society.
This was very important, because it shows that she was either originally adopted from the humane society, or had been
dropped off to them. Had Bella been discovered as having poor litter box habits, it is highly likely that she would have never
been adopted, and would have been put to sleep.
Bella is very thin and lightweight. She is almost in a perpetual push up, as she has very little weight towards the back end
of her.
Bella is the only cat that we have ever noticed that will sit on your chest and put her face right in your face. Most cats do
not like to be stared at, but Bella just sits on us and purrs her little heart out. Her fur is very soft and she is a delight to pet
and play with.
Puff and Bella are related in that Puff is like a Rag Doll cat - very friendly, easy to love, fluffy and gentle. Bella is like a Ragamuffin,
most of the same features of a Rag Doll, different coloration (Rag Doll's have that "A head" pattern on their face). And Bella is a
"self entertaining cat". We have seen her take a paper ball and just have a blast playing with it, tossing it up in the air and catching
it.
While Bella has her poor litter box habits, we have promised her unconditional love for the rest of her life. She has found specific
locations where she relieves herself, and we encourage her to use those same locations (which are very easy to clean!).
The love that Bella gives far exceeds her quirky litter box phobia.
