We are totally redoing this page. In brief, it will be quite short.
We had discussed everything from VHS Tapes and Mini-DV up through DVD+R vs. DVD-R, but the field of litigation
support video production, the focus of this page, has evolved to the point where everything has finally come around
to be digital.
Just prior to going fully digital from acquisition, through editing to final product, we had used Mini-DV tapes. In the
future, it will be more and more rare to find any sort of tape material for any purpose. DVD and other digital technology
far surpass the capability of any tape format.
The immediate and random access capability eliminates virtually illiminates any sort of tape material from future
use - even in archive roles.
In fact, we await each year, as they tick away, for the opportunity to remove all those VHS tapes from storage - they
take up so much space!
